Congratulations to Steve Stilwell on his 2nd place finish and 8th overall this weekend. He raced the BanderSnatch on Saturday in the Minnesota State Championship Series and the first Xrace of the season.

Racing the Jabberwocky all season, this was the first race he has done on the BanderSnatch. Converting the BanderSnatch to a Cross Bike he put on some 700X35mm cross tires. As quoted from Steve: It makes for kind of a strange looking cross bike, but boy does that thing climb. There were no run ups for me, only ride ups.

Steve received the 1st place award for best combined results of both days on the BanderSnatch.

Nice award Steve!!

Vassago heads out to Teaberry

Sunday morning a few from Vassago head out to check out the Terror of Teaberry outside Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.

It was about 50 degrees and it was chilly! Bundled up we ventured over to meet up with Kevin and discuss the race and bikes! Around 8:00am we had the mandatory pre-race meeting and off the racers went!
Kevin reassuring his bike was in top shape to head out.

After 6 hours and 11 minutes Kevin returns....the trails were tough and filled with mulitple rock gardens. Kevin exclaims, "It was one of the hardest races, in some of the most technical terrain, against the best singlespeed riders on the east coast and I can't wait to do it all over again next year!"

Kevin finishes 18th in the SS class.
Congrats on the race Kevin! Glad we got to see you head out for the adventure!

The ChupaCabra

We are excited to announce two new additions to the Vassago line up. The first of which is the ChupaCabra. This race oriented 29er frame has been in testing for some time now and we can't wait to present it to the world! There are lots of questions circulating right now as to what exactly makes the ChupaCabra different. We can't spill the beans just yet, but suffice it to say, it is a lighter, sexier bike built specifically for XC and endurance racing events. We'll post more here as news becomes available.

The New Bandersnatch

The venerable Bandersnatch has made it through the "Apollo Creed treadmill routine" and is now stronger and fitter than ever before!

Thanks to the new "SupaFly" dropouts and refined internal butting, the Bandersnatch boasts an even stiffer rear end and bottom bracket while retaining it's svelt 5lb figure.

Replaceable CNC derailleur hanger, integrated brake mount and clearance for 3" wide tires mean the new Bandersnatch eats the nastiest trails for breakfast and defiantly yells "Thank you Sir, may I have another?".

The new Bander will make its appearance at the Interbike Dirt Demo. Available for sale in October '07.
