The PitchFork is gone forever

Our venerable PitchFork has outsold even our most popular frames. And now it must go the way of lambskin rubbers. Away.

Scalpel like precision tempered with just enough compliance has made the Vassago PitchFork, not only a JabberWocky favorite, but a sought after, aftermarket upgrade to cheap and shitty rigid 29er forks.

Due to it's success, we were informed that a prominent BMX company has used the name "Pitchfork" for almost a decade. Who the hell knew! We don't ride baby-ass BMX wheels. We like 'em big and goofy, with knobbies.

Anyway, out of respect for a company who has themselves told the "generic big-box" companies to go to hell, and established their place in their industry, we humbly succeed. So the Vassago PitchFork is no more...

While remaining Vassago Pitchforks are still available, the fork will be renamed and redesigned for '08. We'll post updates as they become available.

The Devil Went Down To Georgia

And she was looking for a soul to steal! She was willing to make a deal. Watching from afar for the past year she knew her target. A young man riding a 26 was in need of big wheels. Vassago showed it's true form and took hold...quietly she sat ready to ink the deal as races and locations where bounced back and forth...the young man feeling the overwhelming power of the 29s sitting in eye sight signed as she grinned ear to ear.

Please welcome to the Vassago Team:

Eddie O'Dea

Eddie has worked hard to build a name in the mountain bike industry. Eddie started his endurance career approximately seven years ago. His first season included 1st place spots on the podium and by 2005 Eddie was riding for Kona. He went on to win multiple 12 hour and 24 hour races, as well as, National races with podium placements for the next three seasons with Kona.

Eddie also directs two of the biggest races in the Southeast - Burn 24 hour and Fools Gold MTB race and festival. These events have taken off and become a major playing race on most endurance calendars. Fools Gold has been listed in Mountain Bike Magazine as one of the top five races this August 07 and in Bicycling Magazine's November 07 issue.

As if that wasn't enough, Eddie is also co-owner of 55nine Performance. He is trained and certified in Wobble-Naught system. He has fit many of the top endurance racers in the country.

In 2008, Eddie and Vassago Cycles are taking it nationally. We're sending Eddie out to race the ultimate endurance races: Granny Gear 24 hour series, NORBA Nationals, and SSWC in Napa, CA, among many other 24 hour, 12 hour, and 100 miler NUE races.

You can keep updated with Eddie at Ride Like The Devil as he delivers his race reports or any of the numerous interviews of Eddie.

Good luck to everyone that crosses Eddie's path in '08. 'Cuz hell has broke loose in Georgia and the devil deals it hard!

Kickin' enduro ass one race at a time!

Mud, Sweat, and Gears Cross Race

Is that a JabberWocky at a Cross Race. Yes it is. Brian Archer, Vassago Team Rider, has also converted a Vassago into a cross bike. On October 13th, Brian kicked off the Mud, Sweat, and Gears Cyclocross series riding his JabberWocky. You can read his race report HERE.

Below quote taken from his blog:

--My Vassago Jabberwocky performed like a champ despite all the ribbing it took from comments about the little bitty cross tires I put on. It was just one more confirmation that I am on the best bike made. It takes whatever I ask it to and doesn't complain one bit.--

Congratulations Brian

14 year old on a Vassago dominates "real men"...

Vassago Cycles supported rider, Zach Stilwell raced the JabberWocky at the Lake Rebecca Cyclocross race on October 7th, in Rockford, Minnesota.

Zach, age 14, took 1st place in C4 and 18th place overall out of 71 riders.

Congratulations Zach.

Our frames are raced and ridden on some of the toughest terrain out there and repeatedly advance riders to the top! The JabberWocky and BanderSnatch, while not designed for CX racing, are definitely showing a strong presence among this breed of racer! We are enthralled at your photos and stories! Keep 'em comin'!
